Developing Criminology Students’ Critical Evaluation Skills using Peermark (HEA supported seminar)

Building on a pilot study in 2011/12 on the use of Peermark in teaching finance, this seminar presents the work of staff delivering the MSc in Criminology and Criminal Justice. The presenters, including lecturers and students, will be evaluating the use of Peermark with a group of students studying the research methods module and will consider the extent to which peer marking enhances the development of students’ critical evaluation skills.

The event will present the findings from the study and will focus on the role of peer marking to facilitate and enhance the learning process in way which enables the student to improve his/her performance.
